Independent confirmation that a Power of Attorney you already hold will actually do what you need — before a sub-registrar, bank or builder tells you otherwise. Upload the POA, pay a flat fee for your tier, and speak to an in-house NOS lawyer by video, voice or WhatsApp. You leave with a written opinion memo and a fee credited if the POA needs fixing.
Understand the service
What we can help with
POA Review is a paid, time-boxed session with an in-house NOS lawyer to examine a Power of Attorney you already hold — whether you are the donor, the person holding the power, or someone being asked to accept it — and confirm whether it is valid, whether it actually grants the powers you intend to exercise, and whether it is fit for use, particularly for NRI property matters. This is a review of an existing document, not a new one — if you need a POA drafted, the right service is POA Drafting.
You need the document. The POA itself — every page, clearly legible — is the one thing we can't review without. Once your session is booked, we ask for it; the session can't start until we have it, and related documents (title deed, sale agreement, stamp or registration receipts, consular attestation) are optional but help the lawyer give a more precise opinion.
Two tiers, one flat fee each. Standard (₹1,999) covers most reviews; Senior (₹2,999) is recommended when your matter involves a high-value property (above ₹2 crore) or an authority has already questioned the POA. Either way it's a flat fee for the tier — no hourly billing, no per-stage quotes — and you see the price before you pay.
What you get. A written opinion memo from the session covering validity and execution under the Powers of Attorney Act 1882, whether the powers granted match your intended purpose, stamp duty and registration adequacy under the Registration Act 1908, whether the POA is still in force, and — for a POA executed abroad — whether the consular attestation or apostille chain holds up for reliance in India. You also get 30 days to ask the same lawyer follow-up questions on the memo.
What it isn't. This is an opinion, not a fix — we don't redraft, re-execute or register the POA as part of this service. Where the memo finds a material defect, it recommends the right next step — usually a fresh POA or registration — and your review fee is credited against that case if you go ahead. If the opposite party is already a NOS client, or your POA governs assets entirely outside India, we decline and refund in full rather than review it badly.
How it works on the ground
The government process is scattered across portals, offices and paperwork. NOS turns it into one guided flow.
The reality on the ground
Relying on a POA you're not sure about
A sub-registrar, bank or builder raises a question about your POA, and you have no easy way to check the answer beforehand.
A General POA downloaded years ago may grant far more, or far less, than you actually need today.
From abroad, whether consular attestation or notary-and-apostille was the right route is rarely clear until someone objects.
Nobody tells you upfront whether registration was ever required for your POA — until it's rejected.
The NOS way
One flat fee for your tier, one lawyer, one written opinion
01Tell us what's at stake
A short intake covering the intended powers, where the POA will be relied on, and any concerns an authority has already raised.
02Conflict & scope checks
Every matter is screened before a slot is confirmed — and we refund in full rather than review where we shouldn't.
03Two tiers, one flat fee each
Standard or Senior — a high-value property or a matter an authority has already questioned is recommended at Senior, but you always see the price before you commit.
04The POA itself, reviewed
Uploaded once your session is booked; the lawyer reads it before you meet.
05The session, on your channel
Video, voice, or WhatsApp voice if the line drops — with the lawyer who owns your matter.
06A memo you can act on
Validity, powers vs. purpose, stamp and registration adequacy, revocation status, NRI enforceability where relevant, and a plain recommendation — plus your fee credited if you need a redraft or registration.

one flow, tracked end to end
Two tiers, one flat fee each
₹1,999 for a Standard review, ₹2,999 for Senior — no hourly billing, no per-stage quotes, and you see the price before you pay.
A written opinion, not just a call
Validity, powers vs. purpose, stamping, registration, revocation and NRI enforceability — in writing, from the session.
Senior review where it matters
High-value property matters and POAs an authority has already questioned are recommended at senior level.
What we handle
How it works
- 01Step 1
Tell us what you need checked
What you need the POA to let the holder do, who will rely on it (a sub-registrar, a bank, a builder, a court) and any specific concerns — a short intake, about two minutes.
- 02Step 2
We screen the matter
A conflict-of-interest and scope check runs before anything is booked. A POA governing assets entirely outside India, or the other side already being a NOS client, is declined and refunded in full rather than reviewed badly.
- 03Step 3
Pay the flat fee & pick a slot
A flat fee for your tier — Standard or Senior. High-value or previously-questioned matters are recommended at Senior, but the choice is yours. No hourly billing, no per-stage quotes. Pick a slot in your own timezone with a lawyer who speaks your language.
- 04Step 4
Upload the existing POA
Once your session is booked, we ask for the POA itself — every page, clearly legible. This is the one document we can't review without; the session can't start until we have it.
- 05Step 5
Your review session
The lawyer who has read your POA walks through what it does and doesn't authorise, by video, voice, or WhatsApp voice if the connection is poor.
- 06Step 6
Opinion memo & follow-up
DeliveredA written memo covering validity & execution, powers vs. purpose, stamp adequacy, registration adequacy, revocation status and (for POAs executed abroad) NRI enforceability — plus 30 days to ask the same lawyer follow-up questions.
What you'll typically need
- The existing Power of Attorney itself — every page, clearly legible (the one thing we can't review without)
- What you need the POA to let the holder do, and where it will be used
- Whether the POA relates to immovable property, and roughly what it's worth
- Where and when the POA was executed, and whether it's been registered or stamped
- For a POA executed abroad — how it was authenticated (consular attestation, notary, apostille)
- Whether there's an existing case or lawyer, and the other party's name (for the conflict check)
The existing POA is mandatory — every page, clearly legible — and the session can't start without it. If a page is missing or a scan is unclear, we'll ask you to resend it; nothing about your booking is lost while we wait.
Made for NRIs. Slots are shown in your local time and matched to a lawyer who speaks your language. The fee is charged in INR and displayed in USD or AED so you always know what you're paying. If the video drops, the session falls back to voice and then to WhatsApp — no rebooking, no trip home.
Not sure your POA will hold up?
The intake takes about two minutes. You'll see the flat fee for your tier before you pay, and nothing is booked until payment is captured.
