Encumbrance Certificate

Proof a property is free of mortgages, liens and disputes — pulled and read for you. What is an Encumbrance Certificate?

An EC lists the registered transactions on a property over a chosen period — sales, gifts, mortgages, liens and other charges. It's essential proof that a property is free of (or carries) encumbrances, and banks, buyers and courts routinely require it. For records after 1983 it can usually be retrieved online in days; older records need a manual search at the Sub-Registrar office — we handle both, end-to-end.
