Withdrawing a Power of Attorney isn't just deciding to — the law only protects you once the revocation is properly executed and the people relying on the POA actually know about it. In one session, an in-house NOS lawyer confirms your POA can be revoked, drafts the deed of revocation itself, and gives you a clear plan for everything else. If you already suspect misuse, your matter is automatically routed to a senior lawyer, because every day of delay matters legally.

What we can help with
Revocation Support is a paid, time-boxed advisory session with an in-house NOS lawyer to withdraw a Power of Attorney you granted over property or other matters in India. The lawyer confirms the POA is actually revocable, drafts the deed of revocation for you, and explains exactly what still needs to happen for the revocation to be effective — because under the Contract Act, a revocation has no effect against third parties until they know about it. Acts by the attorney before that point can still legally bind you, which is why speed matters.
Already suspect misuse? Tell us in the intake and your matter is automatically routed to a senior lawyer at the Complex tier — the fastest path we offer to talking through immediate steps.
Three tiers, one flat fee each. Simple for an unregistered, movable-only POA with a cooperative attorney; Standard for a registered POA, immovable-property powers, or execution abroad; and Complex for suspected misuse, a hostile attorney, or an existing dispute. Your intake produces a recommendation — you can move up freely, or down with a warning.
What you get. The draft deed of revocation itself within 48 hours of the session, plus written guidance covering how to execute it (consular attestation, notarisation and apostille, or in-India execution), whether registering it at the original Sub-Registrar is mandatory, how to publish a public notice, and how to formally notify the ex-attorney and any banks or other parties who dealt with them — plus 30 days to ask the same lawyer questions as you work through it. If the attorney contests the revocation, your session fee is credited against that case.
What it isn't. This is planning and drafting, not execution — you (or your local representative) sign the deed, present it for registration, book the newspaper insertion, and send the notices yourself, paying every government or vendor cost directly; we don't track a courier, appear at the Sub-Registrar, or verify delivery proofs on your behalf. If your POA turns out to be coupled with the attorney's own financial interest, unilateral revocation may not be available — we'll say so and refund you in full rather than draft a deed that won't hold up.
How it works on the ground
The government process is scattered across portals, offices and paperwork. NOS turns it into one guided flow.
The reality on the ground
Trying to withdraw a POA you no longer want in force
Nobody tells you that simply deciding to revoke a POA doesn't make it effective against the world — the law requires the revocation to actually reach the people relying on it.
A POA given as part of a loan or sale arrangement might not even be revocable on your own — and there's no easy way to check.
Every day before a revocation is properly executed and the attorney is formally told, the attorney's acts can still legally bind you.
From abroad, working out whether you need consular attestation, an apostille, or can just sign locally is genuinely confusing.

What we handle
How it works
- 01Step 1
Tell us about the POA & the attorney
The original POA's particulars, what it empowers, the attorney's details, and whether you suspect misuse — a short intake, about three minutes.
- 02Step 2
We screen the matter
A conflict-of-interest check and a revocability check (Contract Act s.202) run before anything is booked. A POA coupled with the attorney's own financial interest may not be revocable unilaterally — we say so plainly and refund in full rather than draft a deed that won't hold up.
- 03Step 3
Choose your tier & slot
Your answers produce a complexity score and a recommended tier. A registered POA, execution abroad, a hostile attorney or suspected misuse floors you to a higher tier. Then pick a slot in your own timezone with a lawyer who speaks your language.
- 04Step 4
Pay — and your lawyer is assigned
Sessions are pay-first at a flat fee for the tier. The slot is held and one lawyer becomes the owner of your matter only once payment is captured.
- 05Step 5
Your session
The lawyer confirms the POA is revocable, works out the right execution path for you, and drafts the deed of revocation itself — by video, voice, or WhatsApp voice if the connection is poor.
- 06Step 6
Draft deed & action plan
DeliveredWithin 48 hours of the session you receive the draft deed of revocation plus written guidance on executing it, registering it where required, publishing public notice, and formally notifying the ex-attorney and other parties — plus 30 days to ask the same lawyer questions as you work through it.
What you'll typically need
- A clear scan of the original POA (registered copy or certified copy, all pages)
- A copy of your passport (photo page)
- The original POA's execution and, if applicable, registration particulars
- The attorney's full name, relationship to you, and postal address
- Whether the attorney is cooperative, uncertain, or hostile — and whether you suspect misuse
- Whether there's an existing case or lawyer, and the other party's name (for the conflict check)
The original POA scan and your passport copy are both mandatory and requested once your session is booked — the session can't start without them. If you don't have a copy of a registered POA, tell us and we'll advise on obtaining a certified copy from the Sub-Registrar.
Made for NRIs. Slots are shown in your local time and matched to a lawyer who speaks your language. The fee is charged in INR and displayed in USD or AED so you always know what you're paying. If the video drops, the session falls back to voice and then to WhatsApp — no rebooking, no trip home.
