Birth Certificate

Obtain, correct or reprint a birth certificate — the base document for school, passport and ID. A birth certificate is the foundational proof of identity, age and parentage, needed for school admission, passport, Aadhaar and inheritance. Missing, late-registered or error-filled certificates block all of them. NOS handles new registration, corrections and reprints with the municipal / panchayat registrar.

Understand the service

What we can help with

A birth is registered with the local Registrar of Births & Deaths, and a certificate is issued from that record. A certified copy of an already-registered birth is straightforward and fixed-price, and so is adding a child's name to an existing record. Other situations take more work: registering a birth that was never registered (within 21 days is routine; up to a year needs a permission; over a year needs a Non-Availability Certificate and a magistrate order), correcting a name or date, searching an old manual register, or an adoption / surrogacy / parentage matter. We assess your case honestly and tell you the realistic route and timeline before any work begins.

How it works on the ground

The government process is scattered across portals, offices and paperwork. NOS turns it into one guided flow.

The reality on the ground

What you face today in TG & AP

4 hurdles

Registered with the local municipal body or panchayat under the RBD Act; process differs by state and urban / rural.

Late registration (beyond 21 days) needs an affidavit and often magistrate / authority approval.

Name, spelling, date and parent-name corrections each follow a separate, evidence-backed workflow.

Applying and collecting locally is a burden for families settled elsewhere or abroad.

How it works

  1. 01
    Step 1

    Tell us what you need

A short questionnaire — where and when, and what you need. A certified copy of an already-registered birth is quick and fixed-price.

  2. 02
    Step 2

    Case Manager assigned

A dedicated Case Manager is assigned and you can message them before you pay. Legal cases get a clear plan and realistic timeline first.

  3. 03
    Step 3

    We handle the offices

We retrieve or register the record with the Registrar of Births & Deaths (municipality / GP / GHMC), and coordinate any NAC, magistrate or gazette steps needed.

  4. 04
    Step 4

    Certificate delivered

    Delivered

You receive the certified certificate in your dashboard — and, for use abroad (OCI, passport, school admission), apostilled / attested and couriered overseas.

What you'll typically need

  • Where and when the birth occurred (the place decides the authority)
  • Whether it was already registered, and the registration number if you have it
  • Any hospital birth record, and the parents' IDs
  • Your ID and relationship to the person (applicant details)

Don't have everything to hand? That's alright. Share what you can — your Case Manager will tell you exactly what's needed and, where records are old or missing, help you trace them.

Made for NRIs. No trips home. No local runaround. No language barrier. Manage the entire process from your phone, in your own timezone — while NOS handles the counters, the paperwork and the follow-ups.
